ILIA's Serum Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 is in a squeeze bottle.

ILIA’s Serum Mineral Sunscreen looks nothing like other sun care products on the market. Packaged in a squeeze bottle, it’s easy to use and take anywhere. It also looks upscale.

Officially called “Sun Serum Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50,” ILIA Beauty says it’s a breakthrough formula—and the brand’s first-ever standalone sunscreen. It’s part of ILIA’s skincare collection. Meant to apply first, the Sun Serum preps the skin for other makeup products.

The innovative formula is a lightweight gel-cream that transforms into a “refreshing water-burst texture,” the brand says. The Sun Serum claims to boost moisture for up to 24 hours, while controlling oil and shine for up to 8 hours.

“It took over three years to get the texture and finish just right,” says  ILIA Founder, Sasha Plavsic. “It’s unlike any everyday mineral SPF 50 on the market.”

ILIA Beauty’s Sun Serum Mineral Sunscreen contains seven types of Hyaluronic Acid. The ingredients’ various molecular weights mean the serum is more effective at locking in moisture, the brand says.

The Sun Serum also contains Aquaxyl, a plant-derived complex that reinforces the skin’s moisture barrier and prevents water loss. Echinacea Purpurea and Rhodiola Rosea extracts slow sebum production.

Most importantly, the Sun Serum delivers extended broad-spectrum protection against UVA/UVB, visible, and infrared light.
